Muscle Group: Shoulders
Several machines have been designed to duplicate the lateral movement of the deltoids. Machine Laterals are designed to not put stress on your wrists, elbows, or forearms. Since there is no pressure on the wrists concentrate on feeling the deltoids lift your arm from the starting position at your side all the way up through the entire range of motion of the machine and then back down again under control, resisting the weight all the way down.
I find Machine Laterals to be really awkward since my I’m usually too big to fit into the machine properly. These can be good for beginners since the machine helps keep your form stable.
